I always enjoy a good caffe after a long day of traveling. We hopped on a train to Genova this past weekend and stayed at my boyfriend’s aunt’s house.I finally saw snow… from the inside of a train… for five minutes. On our way to Torino, we passed some snowy parts. The Museum of Cinema in Torino is filled with interesting historical moments. Being a Film student, it was an exciting day! This was the script of Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock.Next stop in Torino was the Egyptian Museum, which was a nice break from all the surrounding Roman Art and History. One of the nice thing about having connections is getting to see a beautiful view of Genova, like this one, for free. This is where Columbus sailed off to find India.A pebbly shore edge contrasted by the colorful evidence of Carnavale. If Heaven was layers of cheese on top of delicious Italian bread…. This is a traditional Genovese Focaccia Tipo Recco, basically a cheesy pizza, only way better. The Nina, The Pinta, and the Santa Maria. Genova has a site in memory of our dear friend Christopher Columbus. You can also go see what they believe to be his house.Another nice thing about staying with an Italian family is the amazingly delicious dinners they cook for you.The aunt explained to me how to make the traditional Pasta with Pesto al Genovese dish. I will not be able to make it has good as she does.
