The last few weeks have been filled with immersive research experiences as students have solidified their final projects. We have traveled to government agencies, rural villages, and cultural centers. We have begun to discuss our findings with Dr. Jhala and are preparing for the end of the trip!

My peers and I participated in a walking meditation at sunrise in the desert. The practice of meditation has been a highlight within a few of the students’ projects.

We have observed several herds of goats while here. Many villages keep goats and produce cream and cheese from their milk.

Students have been researching the quality of the water and how it is allocated to farms and villages. This is especially important considering this year’s drought.

The vegetable market is located in the busiest part of town. The majority of people in Dhrangadhra eat a wholly vegetarian diet. There are farms in the area but some foods are imported from other locations.
